Sergio Vatteroni
(Carrara, 1890 – 1975)
Biography
Sculptor, etcher artist and lithographer, born in Carrara on March 13, 1890. He studied sculpture at the Carrara Academy and at High School of Rome. He was a national retiree of the Roman School of the Art of the Medal. Honorary Professor of the Academy of Carrara and of the Academy of Drawing Arts of Florence. He illustrated all the work of the Carrara quarries with a series of thirty large etchings. He traveled extensively, collecting impressions throughout Latin America and illustrating the rose harvest in Bulgaria. He has exhibited as a sculptor and painter and also as an engraver at the Venice Bienniale, in Rome, Florence.
